Mission
The International Gift Fair is a community wide event to educate area residents about fair trade and alternative gift giving. The fair provides holiday shoppers with an opportunity to purchase gifts that make a difference in the lives of people locally and abroad, people whose well being is interdependent with ours.

This year's fair will be Dec. 5 & 6 from 10 - 4 at Mainland Regional High School in Linwood, NJ.

We would also like to share with you some advice on hosting YOUR OWN Fair Trade Fair Click here to find out more FairTradeFairAdvice_2_.doc

Upavim-The mission of UPAVIM is to empower the women of the community, giving them an opportunity to improve their quality of life, for themselves and for their families. We pursue this mission by giving them access to education, employment opportunities, daycare services for their children, health care services, and programs for personal and professional development.

Wild Boar Creek-All of our products are handwoven/handmade by subsistence farmers, landmine victims, widowed mothers and women heads-of-household, and other economically or otherwise disadvantaged Cambodians. At present, we are working directly with craftspeople - individuals, families, and cooperatives - in approximately 12 villages, as well as with several non-governmental organizations and handicraft shops. We pay fair prices for our products, and are deeply committed to helping these talented artisans improve their standard of living.

Ten Thousand Villages-At Ten Thousand Villages we want our fair trade to enable artisans like Maya Halder to overcome their problems, to send their children to school, to afford adequate food and clothing and to improve the quality of their lives and thair communities. Fair trade gives Maya hope for the future.

Market Place: Handworks of India-"People-centered" is what MarketPlace is about. On each piece of MarketPlace clothing is sewn the words, "Dignity, Not Charity," and these words are given life and meaning through the daily operations that involve artisans directly in planning, producing and managing MarketPlace products. There are no handouts here. The women in each artisan group make their own decisions about such things as profit sharing and social programs. MarketPlace is an equal partner and one of the participants in the Women Artisan Co-op Network. The company provides information about market trends, customer research, potential opportunities, and sales analysis to support the development and viability of each cooperative.

Global Handcrafters-Our Mission is to support the Artisans in Developing Countries by assuring that they are provided with fair wages and good working conditions.  We believe these people deserve not only recognition for their talents, but an opportunity for self reliance and economic betterment.  Global Handcrafters is a small Organization of women ages 39-83, importing crafts from Developing Countries since 1994.  We work directly with producer groups in Chile, Bangladesh, Mexico and Nepal and India.  Presently we also handcraft and sell crosses made in the United States to support our Mission.  We sell to a network of retail stores in over 30 states and Organizations for fund raising sales and individual distributors.  We are members of the Fair Trade Federation  and Co-Op America which are supporting organizations of our Mission.

Fair Trade Sports-We've been asked how we can provide a competitive product to you at the same time as we provide a living wage to the folks hand-stitching these high quality sports balls.

Quite simply, we market direct to consumers, relying primarily on Internet sales for distribution and positive word-of-mouth for advertising. By not paying huge sums of money for advertising, we're able to give you a great product at a great price, while still paying Fair Trade wages to
our stitchers.
